Company description…

The Brobe is designing luxury robes for cancer recovery patients and new moms.

I started my business because…

After a friend of mine underwent a double mastectomy and three reconstructive surgeries, I realized the lack of feminine, yet functional, garments for women undergoing breast surgery. Everything I came across was unflattering, cheap material, poorly made, and overpriced. The more I searched, the more this fire inside burned to help these women battling breast cancer. It was an idea that turned into a passion. I thought if my mom, sister, or best friend was having surgery, I would want to give her something that was flattering, feminine, and functional. I wanted to give women all over the world something to wear that is luxurious and comfortable and gives them the dignity they deserve.

What makes my company unique…

Brobe is the first ever bra and robe combination. There is nothing else in the market that provides such quality and function together in one garment. The Recovery Brobe has pockets built inside the robe to hold post-operative fluid drains. The bra, which is detachable, fastens in the front with Velcro and has pockets inside to hold ice packs and/or a prosthetic breast. The robe is designed with three-quarter sleeves that provide easy access during treatment and the material is a luxurious modal cotton spandex blend. Soft on the skin but durable enough to hold the weight of the drains.

Mantra I live by…

Leap and the net will appear.

You should vote for me because…

I truly am trying to change women’s lives for the better, even for a short period of their life. I have put my heart and soul into the Brobe, providing a high-quality product while also striving for the best customer service and experience. We also work with various foundations and non-profits to donate hundreds of products every year to women in need.

Top 3 goals for my business are…

  1. Scale and grow the business. We have expanded our recovery line to other products such as the shower belt, recovery bra, and ice packs. We would like to scale even more by providing more products to help in recovery for men and children.
  2. Hiring a team who believe passionately in our culture.
  3. Create a national marketing campaign.

Women entrepreneurs are…

Driven, passionate, dedicated, leaders, risk takers, smart, who are also humble.

Being a Tory Burch Foundation Fellow would allow me to…

Expand my network and learn from the best. I want to be a sponge that takes it all in and surround myself with leaders who have helped pave this path for me as well as other women entrepreneurs. In the future, I can take this knowledge and pay it forward to other up and coming women leaders who have made that very hard decision to take a leap of faith and become an entrepreneur.
