Company description…

Sun & Swell Foods makes grab-and-go snacks that are better for people and the planet. Our snacks are made from only whole food ingredients and contain no added sugars, flavors or preservatives.  We are a certified B-Corporation and one of the first companies to offer 100% compostable packaging.

I started my company because…

For most of my teenage and adult life, I struggled with the meaning of eating healthy. I spent years trying to figure out what the right “diet” was for me. Obsessively counting calories, avoiding all carbs—I tried just about everything, but nothing ever felt good or sustainable. In 2016, I tried eating “clean” for the first time—eating whole, real foods as close to their natural state as possible. This was life changing for me. I felt better than ever and, for the first time in my life, I found food freedom. However, I quickly realized that finding on-the-go snacks to fit my new lifestyle was a challenge. So… I decided to make my own!

The impact I want my company to have on the world…

I believe that Sun & Swell Foods can pave the way for a new normal in packaged foods where people snack responsibly: taking into consideration the health impacts that snacks have on our health and the environmental impacts the snacks have on our planet. In addition to making responsible snacking more accessible through our own products, I hope our company can help drive a broader industry shift by educating consumers about the need for responsible snacking and also inspiring other businesses to raise their standards on ingredients and packaging.

Top 3 goals for my business are…

  1. Play a major role in reshaping the standards for ingredients used in packaged foods.
  2. Be a leader in the industry’s shift toward more sustainable packaging.
  3. Build a lasting brand associated with doing good.

Women entrepreneurs are…

Capable of whatever we put our mind to, and stronger when we support each other.

I #EmbraceAmbition because…

After years of doubting what I’m capable of, I now realize I’m the only one who can limit my greatness.
