Company description…

Hypland is streetwear reimagined. Our brand DNA uses the combination of social inclusion and multicultural awareness as its muse. This integration creates a thoughtful design aesthetic and unique space in fashion where customers embody their individuality and pride through innovatively crafted pieces that speak to the masses.

I started my company because…

Business development was not intentional, rather business found me and sparked an internal flame. My journey began after divorce, following my son’s passion for design. This was the perfect avenue to redefine my life, model perseverance and create a space where my talents and gifts are valued and meaningful. I always felt a desire to do something great and make a worldly impact but it was never clear how this would be actualized. Starting and running the business has given me a sense of purpose, pride, and accomplishment as a single mother. It was a new beginning. It feels great to be self-validated in the business space which often ignores the strengths of women, especially women of color.

The impact I want my company to have on the world…

As a family business, I want Hypland to serve as a model for embracing and promoting diversity, social inclusion, and social responsibility. Hypland aims to promote entrepreneurship, global education, youth development, and healthy family support and involvement.

Top 3 goals for my business are…

  1. Increase worldwide presence.
  2. Improve the customer experience.
  3. Ramp-up business productivity.

Women entrepreneurs are…

Resilient and brave. We persevere in a society where we are often overlooked. Our crowns of achievement are worn in silence, with pride and humility.

I #EmbraceAmbition because…

I believe in my ability to be transformational, inspirational, and dynamic.
