Using decadent fragrances and textures, here are some of Teadora's products.

Company description…

Teadora, meaning “adore yourself” in Portuguese, creates eco-chic, vegan, and cruelty-free skin and hair-care products powered by the Amazon rainforest. Our luxurious products are crafted with anti-aging rainforest superfoods used by indigenous peoples for millennia. As a triple-bottom-line company, our mission is creating “better for you” products while fighting climate change.

I started my business because…

Climate change is one of the greatest threats facing our planet. I wanted to take part in changing the face of the beauty industry towards more responsible products that are safe, healthy, and actually contribute to the well-being of the planet. Growing up in Brazil, my adoptive mother instilled in me both a respect and sense of duty towards the “lungs of the world” — the Amazon rainforest. I love working with women-led harvesting communities because they allow me to help make an impact on the local forests. Sharing the sustainable bounty of my birth land, while working together to protect the planet, is truly a dream come true.

What makes my company unique…

We have achieved B Corp’s “Best for the World” and “Best for the Community” designations, which reflect our commitment to social and environmental impact. Our products are inspired by the Brazilian beauty formulations my mother taught me growing up. However, the unique part of my company is that everyone is aligned towards our priorities for healthy people, healthy communities, and a healthy planet.

Mantra I live by…

Love yourself, find your joy, share your passion.

You should vote for me because…

I am a mother, wife, entrepreneur, lover of nature, and fighter for conservation. I am passionate about creating amazing products while making the world a better place. Climate change is real, and our generation must reduce its impact for generations to come. Having grown up in Brazil, I moved to the United States when I was 20 years old, with $1,000 dollars in my pocket and a desire to make a difference. Hard work got me where I am today — I am an American citizen and business owner. Your vote recognizes that hard work and humbles me in my efforts to protect the environment for our children.

Top 3 goals for my business are…

  1. Help consumers switch to clean beauty.
  2. Build a worldwide brand that consumers love.
  3. Replant 1 million trees and preserve 75k acres in the Amazon rainforest in the next 5 years.

Women entrepreneurs are…

Inspiring, creative, and community-focused role models for all young (and old!) girls out there who want to change the world.

Being a Tory Burch Foundation Fellow would allow me to…

Find new paths to expand and grow my business while simultaneously maintaining social and environmental responsibility at the core. It would give me the opportunity to learn from experienced social entrepreneurs who mastered the balance between running a successful business and staying true to the principals behind the business’s inspiration. My small business is poised for growth. With the right tools and mentorship, we can reach new heights with smart short-term opportunities, expand industry relationships, and build a strong foundation for the long-term future of our brand.

Best moment at my company so far…

Formalizing our partnership with the admirable non-profit Rainforest Foundation to solidify our goal to preserve 75K rainforest acres and replant one million trees. This multi-year commitment between Teadora and the Rainforest Foundation will work with the Wapichan Tribe across the Guyana and Brazil border, in a sacred area currently suffering deforestation threats. These threats could mean the extinction of many unique species, including the incredibly rare Amazon short-eared dog. Equivalent to 88 Central Parks, the success of this conservation area would mean the world to me and to my mother, who would be smiling from heaven.

I am inspired by…

Indigenous women who travel the world, defending and protecting the forest — minimizing climate change for all of us.

I #EmbraceAmbition because…

It allows me to overcome obstacles, defy expectations, and make the world a better place.
