A workout unicorn — truly unlike anything else out there. To get a bit more specific, Bari is an addictive hybrid workout formula that delivers unparalleled results, makes you feel good (those endorphins!) and keeps you coming back for more.

What sets Bari apart from other workouts…

The fun factor! The workout is no joke, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We bounce on trampolines, dance and — even when we’re toning — move to the beat of the music. We create workout experiences that our clients look forward to.

The community. We’ve been a tribe long before it became the buzzword of 2016 — and for good reason. Our people — both the Bari team and our clients — are at the core of who we are as a brand. We believe in vibes, tribes and like attracting like — and we think our stellar community is proof of energetics in action.

The mission. We’re more than a workout. Our mission is to empower people to make their own rules, write their own stories and live deliriously happy lives.

I started putting the pieces of the puzzle that would become Bari together. I felt a shift from dreading my workouts and constantly trying to figure out how to do it all, to effortless motivation and excitement. As soon as I figured out this formula that felt really good, and I really fell in love with the feel-good power of a consistent workout practice.

I pivoted from a career in consulting to founding Bari because…

I knew I was onto something, and I couldn’t shake the opportunity to see it through. I was good at consulting, but I was invigorated by Bari.

At just 25 years old I had the courage to start a business because…

I didn’t dwell on the risk. I focused on the potential, and I rode the wave of passion, excitement, and creation that comes with starting something from scratch.

I knew I was onto something with Bari when…

We had regular clients within our first month — clients who were seeing amazing results and feeling happier and bringing their friends in. Watching the organic growth of our tribe — especially at the onset — was so powerful and reaffirming.

How Bari has evolved over the last 5 years…

So much! The workout has gotten better and better — we have the best method team in the world, and they pour everything they’ve got into making the best workouts out there. If possible, we’ve become more committed to creating an incredible community and providing top-tier customer service.

A typical day is…

Always different — and that’s the best part of my job. I divide my time between checking in on our locations (primarily in NYC + NJ, but when I’m lucky out in the Dominican Republic), strategizing marketing plans, developing new branches of our business (right now that means online) and finding time to connect with our community. Sometimes that’s jumping into a class, grabbing coffee with a client or meeting up with a fellow studio owner to check in and catch up.

How I chose our first Bari location…

The neighborhood. Tribeca had the warm, community feel I wanted to create at Bari, so it felt like the perfect starting point. I still feel like the tight-knit vibe of all of our studios is rooted in our Tribeca beginnings — it kind of trickled out from there.

Top tips for entrepreneurs choosing where to open locations…

Choose communities that you’re excited to be a part of and ones that will be excited about your brand and product.

How we maintain the brand as we grow and expand…

We hire great people who embody the Bari vibe and are excited about our mission. The idea being that like attracts like — if we have great people internally, our external tribe is going to reflect that.

Ways we are engaging with our clients in and out of class…

We seek to inspire and empower our clients to lead badass lives, ones they’re very much in love with. Our method serves as an active meditation — you’re not really aware that you’re going to that meditative place because you’re moving, but the way we move allows you to access that cathartic part of your brain + tap into internal positivity and empowerment stores.

My advice for gathering customer feedback…

Talk to your clients, and listen. Feedback surveys are hugely insightful, but there’s nothing like a one-on-one conversation with someone who’s consuming your product regularly.

Our baripeel online program allows us to…

Offer Bari globally, and to anyone who doesn’t have access to a studio. This has been one of our big-picture goals — to bring this method we so believe in, to as many people as possible. It’s a truly transformative practice — both physically and mentally, and it’s so exciting to watch the effects become far-reaching.

Advice for balancing health and business…

Make it a habit. If your health practices — eating well, working out, meditating, whatever that means for you — are not ingrained into your routine, business will become an excuse. That might mean that your fives-times-weekly workouts become three-times-weekly workouts, and that’s fine. Come to terms with what feels good for you, and stick to it.

Embrace Ambition means…

Dream big, think big and create big — and do so unapologetically.
