Pang Wangle

Eco-friendly apparel with built-in insect protection.

About the Business

Pang Wangle is a woman-owned outdoor and travel brand creating stylish, eco-friendly apparel and accessories with built-in Insect Shield® repellent technology. Designed for everyday adventures—not just safaris or backwoods camping—our clothing helps protect against mosquitoes, ticks and other biting insects without the need for sticky, smelly bug spray. We combine proven insect-repellent technology with classic, versatile styles and sustainable fabrics made from natural, renewable and recycled fibers. Pang Wangle exists to make insect protection comfortable, beautiful and easy to wear, so people can spend more time enjoying the outdoors and less time being eaten alive.

Jennifer John

I’m a New Orleans–based entrepreneur, storyteller and founder of Pang Wangle, an eco-travel apparel brand I launched to solve a problem I knew firsthand: how to enjoy the outdoors without choosing between uncomfortable insect repellents and getting eaten alive. I turned that idea into a line of versatile, sustainably minded apparel with built-in insect protection and grew the brand through creative storytelling, earned media and a willingness to learn nearly every part of the business along the way.

Pang Wangle wasn’t my first entrepreneurial adventure. After beginning my career as a television reporter and anchor, I founded Fresh Media, a production company I ran for nearly 20 years, producing national campaigns and two feature documentaries, including the Emmy-winning All Over But to Cry. That journalism background became an unexpected superpower in building Pang Wangle, helping the brand earn national coverage in Condé Nast Traveler, Good Morning America, Architectural Digest, USA Today and People. I’m also a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses alum and QVC Big Find winner.

At heart, I’m a storyteller and entrepreneur who loves turning a good idea into something real.
