Aunt Flow
Toilet paper is offered in bathrooms for free, why aren't tampons?
About the Business
Aunt Flow was founded in 2016 by Claire Coder to answer a simple question: Toilet paper is free, why aren’t tampons?
Today, Aunt Flow provides proprietary free-vend period care dispensing and disposal solutions in 70,000+ bathrooms. The company helped pioneer a category now supported by laws in 27 states requiring free period products in schools, contributing to an estimated $2B market opportunity. Aunt Flow serves 1,800+ customers, from Disney Parks to every Apple Retail Store in North America, and more than 4 million students rely on Aunt Flow products in their school bathrooms.
Claire Coder
Claire Coder is the founder and CEO of Aunt Flow. On a mission to make the world better for people with periods, Aunt Flow stocks public bathrooms with freely accessible tampons and pads. Through Claire’s leadership, Aunt Flow has launched patented tampon and pad dispensers in 70k+ bathrooms.
After getting her period in public without the supplies she needed at 18, Claire dedicated her life to developing a solution to ensure businesses and schools can sustainably provide quality period products for free in public bathrooms.
Since 2016, Aunt Flow has worked with thousands of businesses and K-12 school districts nationwide, including corporate partners like Google and Netflix, colleges such as Princeton University and The Ohio State University, 100+ professional sports stadiums and entertainment venues across the country, to offer freely accessible period product dispensers, filled with organic cotton tampons and pads. Coder led capital raises of $16m, sits on the board of FoxFold, and lives in Columbus, Ohio & NYC.
