About the Business
Firm for the Culture is a virtual intellectual property law practice for entrepreneurs, creators, and thought leaders building brands, content, and ideas worth protecting. The firm handles trademark registration, copyright, licensing, contracts, brand strategy, and IP enforcement for clients across industries. It exists because too many founders build something remarkable before the legal structure catches up, leaving their equity exposed to anyone willing to claim it. Firm for the Culture closes that gap early, so clients don't just build something people recognize, they legally own it and can pass it on.
Rukayatu Tijani
Rukayatu “Ruky” Tijani is a Nigerian-American intellectual property attorney and the Founder and Managing Attorney of Firm for the Culture, where she helps social entrepreneurs and founders protect the brands, ideas, and innovations they are building.
Her work focuses on making intellectual property law accessible and actionable for entrepreneurs who have historically been excluded from traditional legal systems and resources. Through her legal practice, education, and speaking, Ruky equips founders with the knowledge to understand ownership, protect their intellectual property, and make informed decisions as their businesses grow.
A graduate of UC Berkeley School of Law and an experienced speaker and educator, Ruky brings a practical, culturally responsive approach to intellectual property and entrepreneurship. Her work is grounded in the belief that understanding ownership is an essential part of building sustainable businesses, creating wealth, and protecting the impact founders are working to make.
