El Merkury is a Central American street food and churro bar food concept with two locations. The goal is to represent under-represented countries with a great food culture. We have two locations serving the Philadelphia area as well as two seasonal pop ups at concert venues.

Tenango rum is a premium Guatemalan rum with a mission to support a coop of indigenous women and position rum as a premium sipping spirit. Inspired by my great-great grandmother, who in the 1920's was a bootlegger. She would make cusha, Guatemala's version of moonshine and develop this into a full scale distillery. Fast forward to 2026, Tenango is now sold at the best bars and restaurants in the city of Philadelphia as well as over 100 premium Fine Wine and Spirits locations.

Guatemala City native Sofia Deleon is a visionary in the world of culinary entrepreneurship. Sofia’s success in her early catering company and pop-up concepts, including receiving a "Best of Philly" award, led her to expand the concept into what is now El Merkury, a brick-and-mortar location in the heart of Center City, Philadelphia that also has a home in the historic Reading Terminal Market. Most recently, Deleon now pioneers Tenango Rum, a labor of love that seamlessly fuses her entrepreneurial spirit with her family's heritage. Tenango is not just another rum; it is a vessel for cultural celebration, sustainability, and the empowerment of Guatemalan communities. Centering Guatemalan women artisans in each of her creations, whether sustenance or spirit focused, Sofia constructs vessels for cultural celebration, sustainability, and the empowerment of Guatemalan communities. In addition Deleon is one of the Co-chairs of Sisterly Love Collective.
