About the Business

Slick Chicks is an adaptive intimates and apparel brand making dressing easier, more accessible, and more independent. Our thoughtfully designed bras, underwear, and apparel feature innovative closures and accessible design details for people with mobility challenges, individuals recovering from surgery, older adults, and anyone who can benefit from an easier way to dress. Inspired by the founder’s sister’s experience recovering from a C-section, Slick Chicks was created to rethink everyday essentials through inclusive design—giving people greater comfort, confidence, dignity, and independence in their daily lives.

Helya Mohammadian

Helya Mohammadian spent nearly two decades in fashion product development and supply chain before a deeply personal experience changed the direction of her career. After watching her sister struggle to dress independently following a C-section, Helya began questioning why something as essential as underwear could be so difficult to put on when mobility is limited. She founded Slick Chicks to rethink the way intimates are designed, beginning with patented side-fastening underwear that can be put on and taken off without stepping in or out. What started as a single product has grown into a collection of adaptive intimates and apparel designed to make dressing easier and more independent for people with diverse accessibility needs. Helya has built Slick Chicks from an idea into a brand carried by major national retailers, while staying rooted in its original mission: to give people greater independence, confidence, and dignity through thoughtful design. As a Tory Burch Foundation Fellow, she is focused on scaling Slick Chicks into a lasting, category-defining brand in adaptive apparel.
