About the Business
We're Sipwell, a woman-owned and BIPOC-owned wine company making award-winning premium canned wine. With a single serving of zero sugar, organic wine in each infinitely recyclable can, our wines are meant for toasting the little wins in life. We're on a mission to make wine more enjoyable, more sustainable, and more inclusive in order to create more wine lovers and leave lasting change on the wine industry.
We specialize in Champagne-style sparkling wines, and are the first in the category to pioneer a natural carbonation method through fermentation in the can.
Our wines are available through retail distribution in California, and direct to your door in 40+ states. We offer gift boxes, corporate gifting, and a quarterly wine club via our website at sipwellwine.com.
Hilary Cocalis
Hilary Cocalis is the Founder & CEO of Sipwell Wine Co., an award-winning sparkling wine brand redefining what canned wine can be. Sipwell's Champagne-style sparkling wines earned a coveted spot on Wine Enthusiast's "Top 100 Wines" — the first and only canned wine ever to make the list.
A fourth-generation Black business owner, Hilary comes from a long line of entrepreneurs, though she's the first to bring that legacy to wine. Before Sipwell, she spent over a decade in food & beverage marketing, including six years as VP of Marketing at Ballast Point Brewing Co., where she helped grow the premium, founder-led craft beer brand to a $1B acquisition by Constellation Brands. Watching cans transform beer, she knew wine was next.
Hilary holds a WSET Level 3 advanced wine certification, a master's degree in Arts Journalism from USC, and a BA in African American Studies from Harvard. She's also a 2023 Tory Burch Foundation Fellow, and lives in Encinitas, CA, where — when she's not building Sipwell — she's busy being a mom to two girls.
