Our work is part of the Brooklyn Museum's permanent collection. Since 2010, we've grown from a boutique studio into a thriving in-house D2C and B2B manufacturer, completing a 147-location rollout for Wonder Restaurant Group and increasing year-to-date revenue 162% in 2026. Our focus is further expansion into white-label manufacturing and creative services for other brands while diversifying products and creating our own in-house collections.

Payton Cosell Turner is a visual artist and entrepreneur. She is the founder and CEO of Flat Vernacular, a design studio established in 2010 that specializes in original made-to-order wallpaper and fabrics for commercial, residential, and hospitality interiors. Every design begins as a sketch or painting, blending a warm, artisanal, and contemporary sensibility with traces of history resulting in singular products of non-negotiable durability. Flat Vernacular's work is part of the Brooklyn Museum's permanent collection, can be seen in spaces across the globe, and counts Virgin Hotels, Lena Dunham, 21c Museum Hotels, Jeremiah Brent, and B2 Architecture among its many clients.
Under Payton's leadership, Flat Vernacular has grown from a boutique silkscreen studio into a thriving in-house manufacturing and design business, most recently completing a 140-location manufacturing rollout for Wonder Restaurant Group and growing year-to-date revenue 162% in 2026. Payton is a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses alumna and a 2026 Tory Burch Foundation Fellow, and is currently growing Flat Vernacular's manufacturing and white-label capabilities while diversifying product lines and launching in-house collections throughout the year.
